Seeds-of-Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing support, healing groups, community and mentorship to women struggling with identity as it relates to unresolved trauma and decision making. Our mission is to be facilitators of freedom from false identity. We offer free, confidential services in a safe, judgment-free space. Our vision is for all women to live boldly in their true identity.
Our origin story is about love, redemption, healing and restoration. Nearly thirty-five years ago, Lisa Young found herself pregnant and on her own. She was advised that having a baby would ruin her life and an abortion was the only solution. The decision to end the pregnancy was the result of childhood trauma, along with feelings of fear, insecurity and confusion. A trauma-centered identity was formed where the trauma itself defined Lisa's self worth and decision making. Her brain operated in survival mode.
Lisa grew in a controlling home with an alcoholic parent. Chaotic and tense. Her parents divorced at age 6. Lisa experienced sexual abuse at age 7 and kept it hidden for 14 years. Those events shattered her sense of safety and control. Lisa's parents remarried each other at age 11-lots of fighting and discord. She struggled with emptiness. As a teenager and young adult, Lisa longed to feel meaningful connection. She was consumed with finding her identity in a boyfriend and later as a wife and mother. The struggle with self-image and feeling "less than" advanced. Lisa filled the vacant places of her heart with comfort in busyness, control, fixing everything, food, performance and self-reliance. The journey to healing was long, difficult and sweet. God was with her all the way in small and grand moments.
Lisa is passionate about helping others struggling with identity, trauma and generational patterns of behavior. Living in her true identity as a compassionate, encourager and advocate for the lost, Lisa is committed to loving and supporting women through their healing journeys, being the person she needed many years ago.
God used a sequence of life events to make Himself known. These events launched a healing journey for Lisa beginning in 2014. The year long process involved taking inventory of her life, admitting, confessing and surrendering all the wounds to God. Shame was exposed. This experience of authentic accountability was the introduction to having a new life in Christ.
A few years later, Lisa experienced trauma-based healing through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. While CBT was very helpful, there is no behavior modification that can completely heal. Healing requires a heart transformation.
Lisa's true identity in Christ was activated in 2022 after meeting Jamie Winship and reading his book Living Fearless. Soon after, she was introduced to Novo.org and their Activating Prayer Cohorts. It was during the "Teach Me to Pray" Cohort in 2023 when Jesus revealed Himself to Lisa. Her transformation advanced with more Spirit-led encounters in 2024, including a Discipleship Intensive and The Noble Workshops, 5-day Experiential Therapy Intensive led by Sam Eldredge in Colorado Springs.
In 2025, Lisa was directed to The Center for Faith and Helping Parents Love, a curriculum-based support group for parents of LGBTQ children, created by Preston Sprinkle. During HPL, God showed Lisa where legalism was present in her faith, revealing blindspots and cultivating a true, love-like-Jesus calling for ALL people groups. The LORD called Lisa into full-time ministry in February 2026 and she is certified as a Trauma Healing Institute Facilitator. Lisa is dedicated to leading others to freedom through Jesus Christ.
